Major upgrade project to get underway on the Loughborough War Memorial carillon

Work is set to start on a £280,000 refurbishment of Loughborough’s Carillon Tower. Read more about it in the Charnwood Borough Council website.

“The refurbishment work will see the clavier fully restored with the striking elements of each bell refurbished by the foundry and there will also be some maintenance to the workings of the bells themselves.

The Carillon will be played on November 11, Remembrance Day, and other events are being planned in town by the Council and across the borough.”

2018 Annual General Meeting

On Saturday 24 October members of the BCS congregated in Bournville for the 2018 AGM. The day included two concerts given by Trevor Workman and a shared playing time (featuring a number of duets!) from BCS members. We were happy to welcome new member Elisa Tersigni to her first BCS event.

2017 Playing Meeting at Charterhouse, Godalming

On Saturday 29 October 2017 members of the BCS were welcomed to the Charterhouse School in Godalming to share their musical talents and try out this newly-renovated instrument. We are very grateful to the generosity of Mark Blatchley for hosting members of the BCS on behalf of the school.
